WHAT IS A SOBER COACH?

My name on Twitter is "Sober Life Coach," and in this blog, I plan to do a fair amount of "coaching" you in your recovery from drugs and alcohol. But there's another, more common use of the phrase "sober coach." In fact, a sober coach might be just what you need to be successful in your recovery.

So just what is a sober life coach?  Think of him as a more intense sponsor. He's someone who is there around the clock for you, to help make sure that you don't relapse. A sober coach especially stays close to you during your first couple of weeks in recovery.

So, for instance, he'll be there for you during high-risk situations, such as picking up your paycheck or going around old  neighborhoods. More importantly, he helps you develop a written recovery plan, and offers suggestions on how you can follow it.

If you'd like information on hiring a recovery coach, feel free to email me or call me at 317-20-SOBER.
